GARYVIDEOS – There once was a wise politician who was good enough to get re-elected umpteen times from 1970 to 2010. His name, Marlin Schneider, a wise man among politicians who started as an educator turned politician after teaching high school in Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin. Marlin, born in LaCrosse, Wisconsin, became a young teacher not too long out of college before getting the bug to run for a chance to be elected to represent the 72nd Assembly District in the Wisconsin State Capital. We talk about many subjects in this cable tv show which was originally seen in about 2001-2002.
GARYTALK.COM (GaryWords) – As if things weren’t bad enough following 3 and a half years of Donald J. Trump occupying the White House in Washington, D.C., the COVID-19 coronavirus epidemic became another headache when it swiftly became a “pandemic” after the virus spread throughout the world and came to the shores of the United States. It came by ship and planes filled with thousands of people who picked up the virus during their travels to other countries where unknowingly they were exposed to the highly contagious monster that invades the bodies of those susceptible. It didn’t take long for things to become even more weird, to say the least.
GARYTALK.COM – From time to time, we reach back into some earlier commentary made a few years ago and republish it here. The following is from a blog I wrote on December 12, 2012, during the years our United States President was Barack Obama. It was written by me at the time in response to something someone posted on Facebook that was shared often by other Facebook members. The original message that was shared prompted me to write about it on a Google Blog I had started in January of 2011. My article was called “A Country of Many Religions and A Few Arrogant Attitudes”. Here is what I wrote:
GARYTALK.COM – David Obey celebrated his 80th birthday October 3rd, 2018. For those of you who may not remember Dave, he was a United States Congressman, representing the Wisconsin 7th Congressional District in the United States House of Representatives from 1969 to 2011. Obey (OH-Bee) was preceded by Melvin Laird, who resigned to take on the responsibility of Secretary of Defense in the Nixon administration. Prior to becoming a Congressman, Obey was elected to the Wisconsin State Assembly in 1963 and served there until 1969 when Laird took on the Secretary of Defense job. Obey’s work ethic and political ideals impressed me enough to influence my decision to try the political arena, myself, for a brief time.
