GARYTALK.COM – Most true Journalists are NOT “the enemy of the people” and do NOT produce and publish “fake news” for their readers and viewers to consume, as the 45th United States President, Donald J. Trump, attempts to mislead his followers to believe. Coming from a career of gathering and reporting news as a Journalist for several decades, now that I’m semi-retired, I can’t resist weighing in on what’s been happening recently. President Trump is constantly confusing the issue, and, possibly purposely, or inadvertently, causing extreme harm to the American democracy, in many ways, but to narrow this down a bit, this is about his claims of “fake news”. Calling it that is far from the truth.
GARYTALK.COM (02/17/2017) – I’ve been trying to give our new United States president, Donald J. Trump, time to work out the bumps of his new administration and settle into, confidently, being the best president he can be, for all of the country. I have refrained from committing in writing, a critical look at his presidency, in hopes that he would settle down into “being presidential”, and have given him many opportunities to do so. At this point, based on his behavior so far, I’m not sure it’s going to happen.
GARYTALK.COM (11/14/2016) – I have made it a tradition to vote on election day, not before, not by absentee ballot, so I waited for election day to mark my ballot in person this year, too. After I walked several blocks to the building to which I was assigned to vote, I was prepared for a long line of people snaking their way up to the tables to pick up a ballot. I expected to stand in another line waiting for an opening at one of the voting booths after I was given a ballot to mark. That was the scenario for both of the last two presidential elections in which Barack Obama was elected, then re-elected to another term.
GARYTALK.COM (11/04/2016) – It seems, the closer we get to the day the Presidential Election takes place, the campaign messages from candidates, PACs, and candidate surrogates become even greater bags of wind, so to speak. The Innuendo, Untruths, Fantasies and Wishful Thinking become even less easier to take. It seems, sometimes, that the plan reflects the idea that the truth really is not important when it comes to convincing voters to place their mark after your name on ballots.
